About BIPP Scotland

Aims and Missions

The primary aim of BIPP Scotland is to encourage the participation of Scotland’s many professional photographers in the overall mission of the BIPP to be the voice of the profession.

Major roles include:

  • Representing professional photography to government, industry and other professional bodies
  • Protecting professional photographers from exploitation
  • Protecting the rights of professional photographers particularly in relation to copyright and licensing

How we relate to the main body of the BIPP

BIPP Scotland works with the main body of the BIPP which apart from a small Head Office Team is for photographers by photographers. The BIPP Regional Committee consists entirely of volunteers who devote their time freely.

The photographic industry is ever-changing, so it is vital that we can adapt to new ideas and movements quickly.
BIPP Scotland members, along with other regional and national representatives, also serve on the Membership Services Advisory Board from which the Board of Directors is elected.

The Continuing Professional Development Advisory Board focuses on education, training and qualifications.
